If picture is the prose of filmmaking then sound is it’s poetry. This piece hits all the right notes. Thank you Mr EBUKAH.

I enjoyed reading through this.

Most films who dont have large budgets won't put sound into consideration. They easily forget that the audience will listen to what is being filmed so if the sound is bad is not good for a cinema display. Even with the low budget, sound is as important as shooting. Nollywood movies need to improve their sound just like Netflix, Amazon prime and other movie streaming service

No lies detected.

Good quality sound should always be top priority, regardless of budget.

Nollywood is the second best movie industry in the world, as the aim is to give the best cinematographic pictures, sound in movies should also match with the picture qualities in a way to achieve it’s purpose to the audience.

I believe with the more technological advances, sound in movies should be upgraded.

Thank you Ebukah for pointing this out

Informative discussion.

When talking about bad sound, does it also include mistimed/miscued and awfully loud soundtracks/background music for certain scenes or is that just a thing Nollywood movie watchers must endure sometimes?

Lọl!

Thanks for this...

Exactly same question my Dad asked me, a couple of days ago.

These are the secondary aspects of of sound challenges in Nollywood.

Hence they also part of the problems we have to tackle.

It's the point where we start factoring in post-production guys as part of the people creating sound problems in Nollywood movies. Eg Editors, and Composers.

Imagine hearing a loud salsa music playing underneath a supposed sober/solemn scene in a Nollywood movie.

It always sucks when a movie is great but the sound is poor. Hopefully we’d get better.
