We’re Back! Apply for the 2024 IN Film Journalism Fellowship
The biggest film journalism fellowship in Africa is back for the 2024 edition. It is time for a new set of film journalists and content creators to begin THE journey that changes their lives forever!
Mark this — the In Nollywood Film Journalism Fellowship will always be famous. If we doubted it when we started, we no longer do because of the tremendous support we have received from you.
In the past two years, our commitment to the Nigerian film industry has driven us to train over 28 journalists, most of whom have gone on to achieve remarkable feats in film, both nationally and internationally. The exploits of these fellows continue to leave us in awe.
In 2021, we were a small corner of the internet sharing our opinions on film and quickly realised that we had to do the hard work of training and upskilling the people who cover the film industry. The mission for us has remained simple throughout the years — we exist to raise the quality of conversations we have in Nollywood and the African film industry. Thus, it is important to us that we have a community of trained and informed press spread across the industry to raise the bar.
Since we began this mission, our fellows have produced groundbreaking stories on prestigious platforms and covered the biggest film festivals globally, including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, and Venice.
Beyond the accolades, we are immensely grateful for the community we’ve built—a section of the industry dedicated to training and supporting those passionate about film, its journalism and storytelling.
With the invaluable support of our mentors, chosen for their diverse experiences and expertise, we continue to improve the experience of the fellows and the industry.
We are back people and this year, the fellowship has more in store for the new cohort. Successful applicants will explore not only film journalism but also engage directly with key players in the industry. Our mentors this year will be a perfect mix of film and non-film journalists, as well as filmmakers.
So, who are we looking for this time around?
As usual, we seek enthusiastic creatives interested in expanding their knowledge of the Nigerian and African film space and in spreading the word creatively. If you fit this description, we invite you to apply.
Tell a friend to tell another friend. Application closes on May 28, 2024.
For those willing to support this initiative through contributions of any kind, please reach out. And if you want to help but are unsure how, sharing this call for applications or our flyer would be greatly appreciated.
Together, let’s improve the quality of the Nigerian film industry all around.
